This page is for you, not your parents. It's the straight answer to “what does this app actually do?”

What YouGoodAI is

You get a real AI chat: ChatGPT and Claude, multiple conversations, history, the works. The difference is that your family's safety rules check each message and each answer on the way through. Most of the time you won't notice anything.

What your parent can see

• Safety events: when a rule blocks something or asks them first, they see which rule and when.
• Broad topics and trends: things like “asked about chemistry a lot this week.” Labels, not sentences.

What your parent can never see

Your conversations.Not summaries, not transcripts, not “tap to reveal.” There is no button for it. Your chats aren't even stored on our servers; they live on your device and nowhere else. The one exception is honest and small: if a rule is set to “ask first,” your parent sees that one request (up to 200 characters), because they can't say yes or no to something they can't read. You'll always know when that happens, because your chat says “waiting for your guardian.”

The shield

If a rule steps in, the message gets a small shield mark and you see a notice saying what happened and which rule it was. Nothing is ever blocked or watched silently. That's a promise built into how the whole thing works: if a rule acts, you see it act.

Things worth knowing

• A blocked message never reaches the AI, and the AI never sees your parent's notices either.
• If homework mode is on, the AI will teach you like a tutor (one question at a time) instead of writing the essay. Asking it to “just write it” gets a polite no. Curiosity questions still get real answers.
• The AI can show you code, but nothing here ever runs it, and on phones code is view-only.
• Replying to a guardian notice doesn't send anything to your parent; talk to them in person like normal.
